Hosted by The Last Environment, Inc. digital cameras are being distributed to students in areas where TLE operates in order to record changes in the environment, both the natural and the human. Since we are intimately connected to our natural environment, and changes in one affects change in the other, this TLE project is focused on recording change as students see their world change before their eyes. Many of the images may be of scenes never to be seen again, some for the best and some not. Everyone is welcome (after receiving TLE cameras or their own) to upload untouched images to the web site which will act as a repository and a place for students to connect with other interested amateur photojournalists. The hope is that students will become more aware of and focused on their environment, and interested in mitigating unwelcome changes. TLE also hopes to inspire students with resources to share by donating resources to help less advantaged students worldwide to participate in this project. Student images will begin to be posted at thelastenvironment.com by summer 2011.
